The Ultimate Bath Indulgence! LOLA’S APOTHECARY- Queen of Roses Bath Milk Review

Hello Lovelies! Back with another review but this time with one of the most luxurious products i have ever reviewed. Super excited to share this one with you all…if you love ‘me time’, relaxing/calming down, indulging yourself or even bringing luxury into your spa routine then keep reading! This is a longish review so definitely have your cup of tea ready first.

This month i decided to treat myself and splash out on a product that i have had my eye on for a while. It is one of the most luxurious bath products out there and in my opinion worth every single penny of saving. From the title you can guess it is the Queen of Roses Bath Milk by the brand Lola’s Apothecary. For those of you who don’t know much about this brand and their products they usually feature in various magazines and have also won awards before so they are pretty well known in the luxury world. Lola’s Apothecary is set in Devon, England and their products are handmade with a strong “belief in wellness and a holistic approach to life.” (You can read more about the brand and the story here; ) Their products range from Candles, Bath milks, Bath & Shower oils, Massage oils, Wellness teas, (even) Raw honey and Chocolates. Plenty of options to choose from and all so beautifully designed.

SAM_4764.JPG There were so many products i wanted to try first though (mainly the rose ones as i’m a sucker for rose scents) but because they are luxury purchases i settled on just one for now. The Queen of Roses Bath Milk. This retails at £70. Yes at first i did think oh, £70 for a bath product is very expensive but after reading about it and seeing the ingredients etc…i realized you do definitely get what you pay for. And for all of you who are starting to know me better with my blog posts then you’ll probably know i love ‘me time’ and taking the time to treat myself each week whether it be with soaking in a luxury product like this or a simple read in the garden or pampering myself (call me selfish hehe but we all really do need our own relaxing and recuperating time) another reason i thought £70 was worth the spend was because i am a huge believer of ‘me time’ and to be honest you can’t really put a price tag to treating yourself with your own time out.

SAM_4771.JPG This Particular product has won the Best Bath Treat – Natural health International Beauty Awards 2016, so from that title already you know your in for a treat.

SAM_4773.JPGWhat intrigued me the most about this product was the ingredients. Recently i have been researching alot and reading my labels of products i own and i am trying to de clutter all the products out of my life which have the harsh chemicals and the unneeded and unnecessary bad ingredients. So i was on the search for a bath time product that i could soak in and do my body good with, that’s when i stumbled apon this bath milk and was amazed with the ingredients (I have listed down below which i copied from their site.)

100% Natural

INGREDIENTS Sodium Bicarbonate, Buttermilk Powder, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa Butter), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Maltodextrin, Rosa Gallica (Rose) Petals, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Fruit Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium Bourbon) Flower Oil, Rosa Centifolia (Rose de Mai) Flower Extract, Citral, Geraniol, Citronellol, Limonene, Linalool. From essential oils.

Lola’s Apothecary state that their fragrances are made purely out of the finest pure essential oils and do not contain any preservatives. I loved this immediately about the product because so many ‘cheaper’ bath products are packed full of harsh chemicals and nasties and if i will be soaking and relaxing for a long period of time in a warming bath then i do not want to be soaking my skin in chemicals that are bad for me and i want to have my mind put to rest with knowing i am soaking in good beneficial ingredients! So already with the ingredients packed in the product i feel £70 is worth the splash. And because it is 300ml too and you only need to add a couple of scoops to your bath then i feel it will last for a very very long time. And i love products that last me awhile as i really do feel satisfied then with getting my full money’s worth.

The first thing you notice about this product when opening the jar lid is the instant scent of gorgeous roses. SAM_4775.JPGIt is strong and potent and so so dreamy and beautiful. It is like a pretty bouquet of flowers with Rose and Geranium that also contain a creamy vanilla and buttermilk note to it with the smallest hint of exotic chocolate from raw cocoa butter. If luxury had a scent this would definitely be it. When i added a few scoops to the warm running water the scent filled up my bathroom and i instantly felt like i was about to be hugely pampered and in for a genuine relaxation session. It is like bringing a luxury spa into your bathroom. I can imagine if your brought the candle from their range too it would be like walking into a picturesque scene with the flickering glow and the petals floating on the water with the stunning scent filling the air. This is what Lola’s Apothecary say about this product on their site and i needed to include it in my post as it is perfect and truely captures what this is all about nothing i say could top this so i had to copy and paste it in. “Our most decadent bathtime creations, painstakingly prepared and blended in the apothecary kitchen for the queen within you. This luxurious bath milk is a modern British interpretation of Cleopatra’s legendary bathing ritual. Indulge in a creamy, rose scented bath with moisturising Buttermilk, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter. Emerge with baby soft skin.”

You really do emerge with baby soft skin. I couldn’t believe how soft my skin was after just soaking in my bath for 30 minutes. Although the scent when you open the jar is strong the scent wasn’t too strong and heady it was the just right amount. It was so perfect that when i came out it subtly lingered on my skin. This product really does do what it claims to do nourish and soften your skin, and you really are soaking in such beneficial ingredients because it contains;

  • Shea Butter which is full of Vitamin A, E and F and it nourishes, protects and stimulates collagen production.
  • Buttermilk is a brilliant cleanser as it brightens and reveals new skin, whilst moisturizing and softening it.
  • Cocoa Butter which is rich in antioxidants, deeply hydrating and has Vitamins A and E in it whilst helping out with stretch marks.
  • Geranium helps balance the skin and hormonal health whilst also promoting cell renewal.
  • Rose soothes inflammation and reduces redness which removing impurities of the skins texture.
  • Vanilla encourages skin healing because of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in B-Vitamins and antioxidants.

Lastly, i loved the added dried rose petals that are on the top of the product as with each scoop you can add a few in also so they float ontop of the water and it really does add even more touch of luxury when you are indulging in your bath. SAM_4782.JPGI also loved the two gorgeous quotes on the box so of course i had to share with you all. SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

On their website Lola’s Apothecary also say that if you have no time to bathe then you can just dissolve a scoop of this bath milk into a mug full of hot water and place on your desk to inhale the aroma. “Place at your desk to feel like a queen on days when you have forgotten your crown.” It’ll probably relax you so much but please don’t forget not to accidentally drink it when you are in your relaxing trance like state hehe or make sure you also don’t mistake it for your cup of tea.

Overall, Lola’s Apothecary really have thought of everything when they designed and handmade this product. There is nothing that i would change or nothing i would say needed improving. For £70 it is abit pricey for a bath milk but for what you get and what this really does contain and the overall experience you get from it, it is so worth every penny and this is definitely my favourite bath product i have ever tried out and owned. It looks so beautiful and presentable when being displayed on the bathroom shelf and adds a touch of elegance to the room. But the main part i loved about this was the after results of being super smooth and feeling so fresh and calm it is such a glorious feeling after stepping out of that bath aswell as being in it and it is well deserved way to unwind after the stresses of a day.

(Just a small note – I am not trying to convince you to purchase this item. This is solely my own opinion and preference in products and whilst i understand that this may be out of some people’s budget for a bathtime and ‘cheaper’ options are usually more preferred because of the price tag, i am only sharing what i recently brought and loved and would never say that luxury is the only good choice but in this case i would say if your looking for an indulging treat for yourself that you deserve definitely check this one out.)
