Ho Ho Ho Lovelies!
This time next week and one more day it will officially be CHRISTMAS DAY! Where has the time gone?? December for some reason for me has felt like it’s zoomed by! Luckily i am ready for Christmas so i can relax and enjoy the lead up to it and all of the festivities that it brings. If you read my posts you will know that i adore Christmas and it is by far my favourite holiday occasion. Crisp chilly weather, Sparkling snow falling, A warm crackling fire, Snuggles under blankets with all things cosy, Hot choccies with marshmallows melting, Close time with families and friends, People sharing, caring and being generous, Amazing light displays and festive decorations…The list is endless for me 🙂
This week i got nominated by a wonderful blogger Natalie Hanson to do the Christmas Tag, the questions are different from the Christmas Tag 2016 i posted so i thought i would take up the offer and do this as My Christmas Tag 2017. You can find Natalie’s lovely blog here… https://nataliehansonblog.wordpress.com/
Before i begin i will start this with a blog post tradition of mine that i did last year…Here’s a festive slideshow of all pictures that lift my Christmas spirit.
LET’S GET INTO MY CHRISTMAS TAG FOR 2017!
What’s Your Favourite Christmas Movie?
Oooo, I love so many Christmas movies (as we all know there is nothing better than grabbing a warming drink, cosying up with blankets and snuggling in a favourite Christmas sweater by the fire for a movie night.) I have to say my 3 favourites would be; The Snowman and the Snowdog (I got given a gorgeous soft toy of the Snowdog as a present for Christmas and I love the adorable character, it is such a heartwarming short movie that really gets me ready for christmas), Arthur Christmas (This movie is so funny it really makes me giggle, it’s brilliantly thought out and fun for all the family and this is actually usually my first Christmas movie I have to watch), and The Second Star To The Left is my other favourite (I watched this every year as a child with all my family so it brings back great memories to me, it is again another great movie that is really festive and has a very lovely, heart warming ending…I really recommend this one if you have never seen before.)
My other Christmas Movie loves would have to be;
- Four Christmases, so great for a good holiday giggle.
- Santa Who, really funny movie it is a tradition that me and my brothers watch this one every year.
- A Royal Christmas, Not too sure if many people would of heard of this one but a very magical story line.
- The Santa Clause, everybody knows this one! A good Christmas Classic.
- A Nutcracker Christmas, This is one that i only watched and found out about a week ago and it was that good that i add it straight to my favourite Christmas movie list!
Have You Ever Had A White Christmas?
I live in the UK so we don’t often get snow on exactly Christmas Day but, i do think we might of when i was younger as i can remember going out sledging on Christmas Day! Snow throughout the festive period is abit hit or miss where i live, sometimes we get it and other times it’s a small flurry or sadly nothing at all.
Where Do You Usually Spend Your Holiday?
Always with family, with my mum and brothers and often my nan and grandad. Now i have moved out and live with my boyfriend we swap over who’s family we go to on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
What Is Your Favourite Christmas Song?
I have so many favourite Christmas songs so i couldn’t really choose my top one, I am always having my Christmas music on repeat and know the words to nearly all of them! But if i had to pick i would say ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’, ‘Step into Christmas’ and of course (as i am obsessed with Elvis) Elvis Presley’s version of ‘Santa Claus is back in town.’
Do You Open Any Presents On Christmas Eve?
No, I would love to but i do love the excitement of waiting until Christmas Day and then opening up all of the gifts.
Can You Name All Of Santa’s Reindeer?
Duh, OF COURSE!!
“You know there’s Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen…..
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
That song always helps me to remember them all!
What Holiday Traditions Are You Looking Forward To This Year?
Watching everybody open their presents by the tree, CHRISTMAS DINNER (with all the trimmings mmmmm) and sitting around after feeling so full and just chatting and playing some Christmas games together and going for a lovely chilly Christmas Day walk!
Is Your Christmas Tree Real or Fake?
Fake. Mine is even a pre-lit tree too! (That makes me sound so lazy hehe) But my excuse is that it makes me want to put it up nice and early as it’s easy to do and not hard work (especially not having to untangle all of those lights!!)
What Is Your Favourite Holiday Treat/Food/Sweet?
Definitely Pigs n Blankets…Oooo just give me a big bowl of those and i will be a happy girl. I also love those fruit jellies and Turkish Delight….oh and don’t forget those mini twiglets MMMM. Oh and a choice of yummy cheeses. I think that’s it….
Do You Like Giving Or Receiving Gifts Better?
Giving…being totally honest though when i was younger i was very excited to receive gifts as i can imagine all children are but now that i am older i love to give more than receive. I love the excitement of finding a present that you think is a perfect fit for whoever you are buying it for. Their expression when they see it for the first time is what i love the most and that’s why giving is better.
What Is The Best Christmas Present You Ever Received?
I think my favourite christmas present would have to be when I was a child, a present back then would be the most exciting thing ever…even though now it’s still exciting it was 1000 times more exciting receiving a present you longed for back then. Thinking back to gifts I got in the past I would have to say the one that I loved the most because it was the most memorable was my dolls house (I still have but don’t play with)…even though nothing crazy expensive I remember really wanting a dolls house and I got a beautiful one that my mum had been up the night before fixing together (she told me when I was older), the one I got was so lovely…and I remember my nan and grandad got me lots of doll’s house accessories which they wrapped up individually in tissue paper in a gift bag (all these delicate small items) …I had about 20 small items to unwrap no exaggeration! That was a very good gift as then the next few birthdays and Christmases everyone knew what to buy for me…things for my dolls house. 🙂
What Is Your Dream Place To Visit For The Holiday Season?
To be honest i don’t really have a dream place i would love to go too during the holiday season. I love staying home for the holidays and just making your own home space festive and cosy. But if i had to choose a place i would say anywhere with a backdrop of snowy mountains and staying in a gorgeous log cabin with a perfect crackling fire or deep in a wood in a log cabin again especially if there is snow all on the trees.
Are You A Pro Present Wrapper Or Do You Fail Miserably?
I wouldn’t say i am a pro present wrapper but i’m alright at it! I know the basic skill of making it look neat and presentable. I love wrapping gifts especially to good Christmas tunes as i love to make them look pretty. “There’s always time for a bow” – Bryony from Arthur Christmas.
Most Memorable Christmas Memory?
I answered this one back in my 2016 Christmas post and still to this day it is the most memorable one. (although i do love all Christmases and each one is a special memory.) My favourite Christmas memory though would have to be as a child me and my brothers would all run downstairs to see if father Christmas had come, And there would be a letter from father Christmas, half eaten mince pies, chewed carrots, half a mug of milk left, crumbs on counter etc… It used to be so magical and Christmassy and really really exciting as a child. I also have a very funny memory for me. A couple of Christmases ago I caught my mum coming in my bedroom in the middle of the night with a santa hat on…in the dark her shadow looked like an elf, I of course got instantly scared but then when I saw it was my mum I just burst out laughing and we always share that story together and have a good laugh…and I remember her saying “sssh, Charlotte you are meant to be asleep”! 🙂 Another good Christmas memory is when we open crackers we would usually get game crackers…My favourite game crackers was one year everyone in their cracker had a plastic flute to blow and it came with some Christmas songs to play (the notes would be number of the musical instrument) and we would all sit and try and play these Christmas songs in time and in tune. Very funny trying to get it right!
When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
TOO EARLY! I love Christmas as it is the time of the year that most people are feeling joyous and happy. So i have been known to listen to Christmas songs and watch Christmas movies as early as the start of September!! (I know abit too early.) But i do try and hold off Christmas jumper wearing until 1st December….and probably middle of November is when i really start to feel Christmassy.
Use one noise to describe how excited you are for Christmas?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! And if i could use two it would be JIIIIIINNNNGGGGGLLLLEEE BBBBBEEEEELLLLLSSSSSSSSSS!!
What Makes The Holidays Special For You?
It has to be the time with loved ones. Everybody just stopping still for the day to relax and chill out with eachother, it is a warming and delightful feeling chatting with all of your loved ones after everyone being stuffed full of yummy food. It really reminds me how lucky i am and that is the true magic of Christmas. Everybody feeling welcome and happy 🙂
Do you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Yes i do make a couple. But usually one or two, ones that i can stick too and are realistic. I don’t like to bombard myself with a big list full of things to achieve that end up not even being achievable. For anybody who sometimes feel overwhelmed with resolutions i actually wrote a blog post last year in January about ‘New Year, New You? Why Resolutions Shouldn’t Be That Long List Pinned Up On Your Fridge.’ It may help you to view resolutions abit differently. If your interested you can read it here.
