GLOSSYBOX (UK REVIEW) OCTOBER 2018 – Trick Or Treat Edition

A spooky Halloween welcome to this Glossybox review!

Halloween is approaching and there’s no better way to prepare for the spooky day with a Trick or Treat edition Glossybox. This October Glossybox gave out two versions of their October box. You either received a Trick or a Treat. They include similar products just in a variety of different shades. They included in the box products that will give you that Halloween look whether your going for the glamorous or gruesome look.

The box that I received was the Trick edition. So below are all the items included.

ILLAMASQUA Antimatter Lipstick (Shade Energy) – I was really hoping to get this box as I knew that the Trick box was the one with the purple lipstick. I would never usually wear a deep purple lip however in the spirit of Halloween it’s always handy to have a more vampy hue. Illamasqua is a wonderful brand and their lipsticks are so creamy and pigmented. This one is priced at £20! It’s a cruelty free lipstick and finishes semi-matte. It’s a beautiful deep purple shade called Energy and is perfect for a Halloween celebration. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPA141053.JPG

SLEEK MAKEUP Eyeshadow Palette (Au Naturel) – Again so pleased I received this box as I have had this exact eye palette on my Buy Soon list for awhile now. It’s a beautiful palette with all shades I would personally use. It has a very Autumnal feel with the colours and the shades would be perfect for creating daytime looks and more smoky evening looks. There are 12 great pigmented colours which are mineral based. There are some matte and some pearlescent ones. Nice to see a black shade in there also for Halloween! This palette costs £8.99 usually. PA141048.JPGPA141046.JPG

LUNA BY LUNA COSMETICS Translucent Powder – A brand that I haven’t heard of before. Luna by Luna is a New Jersey brand and I have to say I’m excited to try out a new loose face powder. It claims to have a lightweight formula that soaks up your skins excess oils whilst hiding pores and softening up your fine lines. I haven’t tried it out yet but this setting powder will hopefully keep my makeup in place for as long as possible. This setting powder retails at £17. PA141036.JPGPA141037.JPG

MUA MAKEUP ACADEMY Luxe Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit – This is a 2 in 1 compact bronzing/contouring and highlighting set. I love the design of this with it’s flip up compartment. It looks very luxurious even though it only retails for £5! This is in the light/medium range. The bronzing shade is slightly too light for me to use as a contour but I will definitely be trying it out for a bronzer. It’s a lovely matte light brown. The highlighter is a lovely subtle shimmer. I am loving the colour combination of them both and can imagine how pretty they will look when applied to the skin. This is vegan friendly and cruelty free also. PA141028.JPGPA141034.JPGPA141032.JPG

A subtle highlighter (on the top) and a light bronzer (bottom)

THIS WORKS In Transit Camera Close-up – I’ve received this product before I think in a Beauty Advent Calendar and yes it’s a very useful product to have. It’s a 3 in 1 product that is used as a mask, a moisturiser and a primer. It has a powerful blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Argan and Starflower Oils, Repairing Plant Oils and abit of Caffeine. All of these ingredients create a very revitalising formula. This is a perfect way if your in a rush to ensure that your skin is hydrated and prepped by just one product and keeps your  makeup looking camera ready. This is a sample size of 20ml that costs £17. The full size costs £35 for 40ml. PA141027.JPG

Overall, I think this is a perfect box and items for the spooky Halloween theme. I loved the idea of you didn’t know which box edition you would receive and both sets of products are equally great! (I’ve checked out other bloggers reviews on what’s in the Treat edition.) I loved the lipstick and the shade was stunning. I also thought the bronze & contour set was very beautiful. The price of this box came to a total of £67.99!! A bargain seem as though the box only cost me £13.25. I would love to know who else received this box? Or maybe you received the Treat one? Let me know in the comments below your feelings on October’s Glossybox!
