A new season has begun and a new Moi-Meme subscription box has arrived… This is my review on their Autumn 2019 – The starry starry nights edition box. The team behind Moi-Meme love the Autumn season and fill their Autumn boxes with warming and cosy treats. Autumn and the winter months are my favourite months too so I look forward to receiving this box especially around these months. As this box has the theme of The Starry Starry Nights then they have chosen items curated to this theme also.
SKIN ALCHEMISTS Intensive Skin Treatment Candle (£36) Candles are definitely an Autumn staple product and my house is filled with candles all year round. So I absolutely love when Moi-Meme choose to add a candle to their boxes. This candle has a slightly different twist though to your standard candle, and I actually have wanted to buy one of these types of candles and try it out for myself I just never got round to purchasing it, so Moi-Meme read my mind. This is a skin treatment candle worth £36. You could either of received the fragrance; Sweet Dreams (key ingredients – Amyris, Lavender and Passion flower) or Midnight’s Serenade (key ingredients – Elemi, Jasmine and Rose De Mai.) I got given Midnight’s Serenade and I am very happy with it. The candles contain a blend of mind and muscle relaxing, therapeutic botanicals mixed with shea butters and unrefined cocoa with a hint of maracuja oil (passion flower.) The candles melt to a perfect temperature that is comfortable for the skin as they have a low melting point so the oil never gets too hot.If you haven’t come across this type of candles before all you do is light the candle for about 10 to 15 minutes enjoying the aroma and relaxing candlelight until the wax melts, then blow it out and wait for 2 minutes and pour a small amount of the wax into the hands and massage into the skin. They claim that the candle gives you 6 to 8 treatment uses. I can’t wait to experience this spa type treatment in the comfort of my own home.
BIG METAL LONDON Falling Star Necklace (£18)What a stunning piece of jewellery. I love stars and because this box was themed starry starry nights then I just knew their would be a star themed item somewhere in this selection. This is by a brand called Big Metal and you could of either received the Falling Star Necklace or a pair of Falling Star Earrings. I don’t have my ears pierced so I am super happy they sent me the necklace. You could of either received these in Gold, Rose Gold or Silver. I got mine in stunning silver. Silver reminds me more of sparkling stars so I am delighted with the choice. This is such a gorgeous necklace and for £18 is a real bargain. It is nickel, lead and cadmium free. I adore the falling star look with one star hanging down slightly longer…honestly looks so pretty in real (not just pretty in the picture.) A brilliant choice for the box theme.
MSH Faux Fur Gloves (£18)Colder months mean that the snuggly winter accessories come back out, and we got given a beautiful pair of MSH Faux Fur Gloves which are worth £18. They come in a selection of colours and I am very happy with my pair Moi-Meme chose for me. I got mine in Blush pink, they also do – Burgundy, Taupe, Navy, Dark and Light Grey, Black and Dark Grey. They have a suede effect which is super soft and have a cosy faux fur trim around the edge. I love the faux fur added touch it makes them look very stylish. The gloves also have an embroidered flower on the index fingertip so you can keep wearing them whilst on your phone which is a handy idea. It’s lovely to see a pair of gorgeous gloves included in the box as usually subscription boxes do scarfs (I am obsessed with blanket/chunky scarfs however, it is still nice to see a different item included than the more obvious Autumn accessory choice.)
FARRYN AMBER Lunar Facial Oil (£26)Farryn Amber has a range of products that all contain botanical extracts and are all organic, vegan and cruelty free. They hand blend and make their products in small batches which ensures that the ingredients inside are at their most effective and freshest once bottled. I’m guessing Moi-Meme chose this product because of how it fits in with the box theme with it’s name being Lunar Facial Oil. However, I am slightly dissapointed with this item choice as I’m not always a fan of facial oils as my skin doesn’t really need them otherwise I look far too oily and shiny. But with my own personal preference aside this is a 50ml bottle which retails for £26. It’s main key ingredients are; Lavender Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Organic Evening Primrose Oil and Rosehip Extract. These are all incredibly beneficial and nourishing to the skin in their own way. It’s totally free from any chemicals, synthetic ingredients, parabens, SLS, fillers, mineral oils, petroleum and phthalates which is incredible and if I had a love for facial oils this would be perfect!
NIKKI STRANGE A5 Celestial Notebook (£5)This is such a gorgeous notebook that goes extremely well with the theme of the box. Nikki Strange creates beautiful designs and these notebooks are part of her Celestial Collection. In the box you get one from a choice of four different designs. I received Stardust…the others in the collection are: Cloudy Stars, Constellations and Marble Galaxy. I do prefer A4 notebooks as I have alot to write sometimes but it is nice to have a handy little A5 notebook for on the go ideas. For me it’s got a stunning design however, it is just a standard notebook and we have received a notebook during our Spring box this year so maybe a different item could of been chosen.
Overall, this box is wonderful. Again it’s got a good selection of products. My favourites are the necklace, gloves and skin treatment candle! The total worth of this box added up to £103. I am extremely looking forward to the Winter box to see what products they have chosen, I hope they are along the theme of cosy comforts. I would love to know all of your thoughts on this Starry Starry Nights Box, what products are your favourite from this selection?
A Little Bit More Information… Moi-Meme include products from unique brands and every box they dispatch has a lovely variety of items included. They are slightly different from other subscription boxes as they offer an exchange option for products that have different choices (eg: Colour, design, fragrance etc…) so if your not happy with the item they picked out for you, you can get your hands on the one you wanted instead. Which is a great addition to a subscription box!
If you love the contents of this box and their previous boxes I highly recommend subscribing to them, their boxes are always worth the money. The Moi Meme Luxe box (quarterly box) retails for £54.95 and with every box you always get roughly double the amount you paid for. Or you could opt for their Moi-Meme Monthly box which retails for £22.95. Or perhaps you’ll treat yourself to both!
If you are thinking about subscribing to Moi-Meme or want to try out a box then I have a personal code that will give you £5 off your first box! (Please Note – This is NOT a sponsored post I buy these boxes with my own money as I fell in love with the box itself. Moi-Meme gave me the chance to give others £5 off their first box with a personal code to share with all of you lovely readers if your interested in subscribing yourself.)
