I’m excited to be reviewing Glossybox’s first box for the year 2020! To kick start this year off Glossybox has chosen the theme ‘Sleep and Refresh.’ Inside the box there are products that will give the skins complexion a ‘I woke up like this’ morning glow look and ones that will help to achieve the refreshing no-makeup, makeup look. They chose products that will create a revitalising skincare routine to get up and take on the year ahead.
INSIDE THE BOX… 2 BEAUTY AND 3 SKINCARE
BASIC BEAUTY TweezersTweezers are such a staple in any beauty tool case. I like receiving tweezers in subscription boxes although a simple idea they are always useful and come in handy. These are from a brand called Basic Beauty and retail for £15.50. They have a slanted tip which is perfect for easier and precise plucking. Nothing more really to say as everybody knows what tweezers are used for but it’s a bonus that these tweezers are in my favourite colour…pastel/baby pink!
MODELCO Clear Brow Gel This is a clear brow gel by ModelCo which is worth £14. This product is abit of a miss for me as I have never ever needed to use a brow gel before and my eyebrows have always stayed in place without one, so I don’t think I’ll be trying this out. But if you do use a brow gel this one is vegan and cruelty free. You can use it to shape your natural brows and hold the hairs in place for a polished and clean look, or you can apply it over your brow products to set the colour and keep them looking flawless all day long.
BYBI Strawberry BoosterWhen I saw this in the box I was quite intrigued by this product. It’s called Strawberry Booster and it’s a 100% cold pressed strawberry seed oil, perfect for creating a brighter and softer complexion. It’s been made from upcycled seeds from the juice industry and is rich in a variety of antioxidants and omega 3 and 6. It claims to sooth, hydrate and nourish your facial skin too. Looking forward to trying this out as I’ve never come across a product like this before so it’s a beauty discovery for me this one. It retails for £12.
BEAUTYPRO CBD Oil Infused MaskYay another facial mask! I love receiving a sheet facial mask in subscription boxes so am pleased to see this one by BeautyPro. It’s a CBD oil infused mask. The sheet mask itself is made from biodegradable bamboo and the mask’s formula is infused with anti-inflammatory cannabidiol which helps to even out skin tone, calm, soothe and restore your complexion. It retails for £5.95. Including CBD in skincare has been a trend recently as they have discovered lots of amazing benefits from it so It’ll be interesting to try this mask out for myself.
KUESHI Double Effect Makeup RemoverI have received this product before in a previous Glossybox so not too impressed to see it again personally. Although the idea behind this makeup remover is pretty cool. The clear liquid is rich in soft oils which remove makeup and also waterproof makeup too. The blue liquid is a mild lotion that gives a lovely sensation of freshness when on the skin. The makeup remover cleanses the skin and does remove makeup well like it claims. It doesn’t leave a greasy film after using either. This is a 100ml bottle…for 125ml (full size) it is worth £7.50.
NAKD Blueberry Muffin I love when Glossybox include an extra edible treat. This one is a blueberry muffin bar from Nakd. It’s 1 of your 5 a day and I’m actually going to enjoy this now after writing this post with a nice warm cuppa tea…YUM! Thank you Glossybox.
Overall, this box is okay. The total worth of the box came to about £53. For me it wasn’t super exciting for a first box of the year I only really liked the BYBI Strawberry Booster and Basic Beauty Tweezers. The variety of selection was okay but the products just didn’t feel that exciting. Hopefully February’s box will be better. I would love to know your opinions and thoughts on this box down in the comments…Did you like the contents? Did you think this was a good theme for the start of the year 2020? Perhaps you received this box too I’d love to know what your favourite item was.
