This month Glossybox have a very exciting theme for exploring your wild side, they have designed two boxes to fit their ‘Wild Thing’ edit. You will either receive their Zebra print design or their Leopard print one. I got given the leopard print design which I am thrilled about. Both boxes will feature five full size products but the selection of products will vary slightly depending on which box you receive. The products have been chosen to fit around a theme of beauty must-haves that make you feel free and fierce. So let’s see what’s included in my leopard print edition box…
INSIDE THE BOX… 2 BEAUTY, 2 SKINCARE AND 1 HAIRCARE
STEVE LAURANT Eyeshadow Palette I have to say first that the packaging of this product fits perfectly with my leopard print theme, spot on. This is an eye-shadow palette by Steve Laurant that includes nine creamy eye shadows, the shades range from nudes to dark and are a mix of shimmers and mattes. They are smooth, well pigmented shades which blend really well. I love that this palette ranges in softer hues to darker ones because you can create a subtle day look and then with the same palette create a more eye catching evening look. The palette itself looks lovely however I’m a little bit shocked at the palette price apparently it retails for £31. I’m surprised by this because the palette itself doesn’t feel that luxurious in price as it feels a little bit on the cheaper side made. Overall though I’m looking forward to trying out some new eye looks with this palette.
STARGAZER Glitter Eyeliner PencilThis is a glitter eyeliner pencil from the brand Stargazer. I’ve not come across this brand before so it’s nice to find a brand discovery for me in this box. These are really pretty and they only retail for £2, what a bargain. Glossybox chose a range of 6 different shades so you will receive 1 of 6. I am extremely happy with the shade they picked out for me as it would of been the one that I would of wanted to try out. I got given their nude glitter eyeliner in the shade Flush. As you can see from the swatch above they are nicely pigmented and have a wonderful sprinkle of glitter in them. I’ve never tried a coloured eyeliner apart from the standard black shade before so it’ll be interesting to see if I like this one as an eyeliner. But this is an extremely pretty product.
EOS Sphere Lip BalmThis lip balm from EOS retails for £6.50. Again there was a selection of choice: you could of received either Pomegranate, Raspberry, Strawberry Sorbet or Sweet Mint. I got given the Sweet Mint flavour, I’m personally not keen on mint flavours for a lip balm so it’s abit of a let down receiving this flavour. I have tried out EOS lip balms before and personally don’t find them very hydrating for my lips, I find that other lip balms work so much better for me so not wowed by this product. This lip balm contains nourishing ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil and Vitamin E and has been designed to hydrate and condition the lips. With the chosen flavour and my personal opinion on EOS lip balms then I’m giving this product a miss sadly.
OH K! Sos Printed Sheet MaskThe packaging of this is very cute, this is a printed sheet mask from the brand OH K! Again this is a receive 1 of 3 choice; either Peacock, Dalmatian or Leopard, obviously with a leopard print box it has to be a leopard print mask and that’s what one I received. Having an animal print design on a face mask is a fun way to pamper yourself and all of the masks retail for an affordable £4. The leopard print mask contains tea tree and willow bark which helps to calm and balance the skins complexion.
I already tried this out and I was a little dissapointed as I didn’t like the feel of the mask, the best way to explain it was that it was very wet. The serum they soaked the mask in was just dripping all down my neck, I’ve never experienced that with a face mask before and when I took it off my face it was saturated in wetness. Yes my face was nourished and very hydrated however I did not enjoy how wet my face was and how long it took to rub in all the product at the end. I wouldn’t personally buy this mask for myself after that experience.
MUDMASKY Hair Mask, Scalp Treatment & Miracle ShampooI love the brand Mudmasky and it’s a real treat when I see it included in a subscription box. This is their Hair Mask, Scalp Treatment & Miracle Shampoo that retails for £21 for 75ml of product. It’s basically a 3 in 1 treatment. It contains the wonderful Moroccan Argan Oil aswell as Moroccan Mud and Flowers. This treatment first moisturises the skin on your scalp then it hydrates, strengthens and repairs the hair whilst giving it a good clean wash. I’m looking forward to trying this out as the ingredients look great so that’s a huge bonus.
Overall, this box is just okay. I was really excited when I saw this theme as I do love abit of leopard print however, it’s not the best box for products. I only really liked two of the products the Mudmasky Hair Treatment and the Glitter Eyeliner Pencil by Stargazer. I hate writing negative posts and being negative about Glossybox as I usually love all of the products included in their boxes but this box just wasn’t to my liking if I’m being totally honest. The total worth of this box came to £64.50… hopefully next months box will be better for my preference.
I would love to know your thoughts and opinions on this box… Did you receive this months Glossybox (which did you get zebra or leopard design)? What did you think of it overall and what products were your favourite from the selection? I love hearing from you all, so leave your comments down below.
