This week I wanted to write a piece of advice that’s been extremely valuable to me and I would love to share it with you all today…
We all know the importance of exercise for our overall health and wellbeing but sometimes we may find ourselves exercising for the wrong reasons. We may find ourselves falling into a toxic, body-shaming relationship with fitness and this can be incredibly damaging to our mental health. I personally think it’s so important to approach exercising in a positive light. Think about it like this; aiming to lose weight to heal your body image is basically like smiling to cure depression, superficially it may seem like a solution but it will not get to the root of the issue. So my piece of advice is when you engage in exercise do this in a more positive light. Look at your workout from the lens of how you want your body to feel rather than how you want it to look. Exercising in this more mindful way can do wonders for your overall mood, pain relief, longevity and stress levels.
I know this is a short, sweet and to the point type of post this week but it was a piece of advice that I really wanted to share with you all.
